There is a mystery
Of uncertainty
Of a place I do not know
Of what comes next
What tomorrow holds
What answers
What questions
What needs
What provisions
What dreams
And desires
Will be met
Or unmet
In the uncertain next.
My heart holds silence
At the hope
Of the uncertain tomorrow.
I know the mystery is held
In the hands of a faithful God
Of a deeply loving Father
Embracing me in the curve of His hand.
Yet
It is not easy
When I lose control.
I feel I am standing
On unstable ground
Because of the unknown
In the uncertain next.
My spirit holds the mystery
My heart is stretched out
In anxious surrender
In peace
In awe
Of the curious uncertain next.
Lamentations 3:24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
