The Mundane and The Holy

By Lydia Royce

The Mundane and The Holy

In the moments of the daily,

In the whats, and wheres, and hows,

He is here,

In the now

In the little things of life.[1]

In the cooking of a meal,

In the driving and the shopping,

In the clutter

And the mess

In the shining of the sun

In the chirping of the birds

In the darkness

Of the night,

He is here,

In the now

Life holds life.

In the warmth of a touch,

In the laughter

And the tears,

In the love of a smile,

In the promise of a rainbow,

In the little things of life,

In the Mundane

Is the Holy,

In the Holy

The Divine.

He is here,

In the now,

In the little things of life.

[1] Colossians 1:16-17 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
