In You

By Lydia Royce

In You

Satisfied in You, is my soul,

Content in Your goodness,

In the knowledge of being held,

In the grace of being known.

You invite me into poverty,

To receive You as my treasure.

You lead me into the unknown,

To abandon myself to you alone.

Though it confuses the world,

The call of your companionship beckons me.

The confidence of your friendship affirms me.

The cloud of witnesses look

They call me beloved.

My heart hears the assurance

Of well-done faithful one.

Based on Mary’s Magnificat (Luke 1: 46-55), written at a Psalm Writing workshop conducted by Ann Harikeerthan
